Day 01: Mumbai
Arrive in Mumbai'the financial capital of India and check into the hotel that has been pre-arranged for you.
Day 02: Mumbai - Bhavnagar
On the 2nd day'have a leisurely breakfast and proceed towards the airport for your direct flight to Bhavnagar located in the state of Gujarat. Embark on half day sightseeing tours to some of the most visited tourist destinations in the city including the Takhteshwar temple and the Gandhi Smriti Museum. Overnight stay in the hotel in Bhavnagar.
Day 03: Bhavnagar - Palitana - Lothal
Day 3 will be quite an eventful day with lots of sightseeing and traveling lined up for the day. From Bhavnagar'early in the morning'you will travel down to Palitana that is mostly known for housing a number of ancient Jain temples. After offering prayers in the temple'you can continue your journey to Lothal'a significant site that once belonged to the Indus valley civilization. The ancient city still has a number of relics to give you a glimpse of the golden era. Overnight stay in a heritage hotel in Lothal.
Day 04: Lothal - Ahmedabad
Explore the excavated ruins of Lothal on the 4th day of the forts and palaces of India tour. The guided tour across the place will help you to capture the complete picture of the ways of life of the people of that era.
In the afternoon'proceed towards Ahmedabad'popularly known as the 'Manchester of the East''owing to the vast repertoire of textiles produced here. In the evening you can visit the local markets or rest in the hotel rooms.
Day 05: Ahmedabad
Visit the attractions of Ahmedabad on the 5th day of the tour. This would include a visit to the Calico Textile museum'the tomb of Ahmad Shah'the Sabarmati Ashram'and also the Jama Masjid'one of the most revered places of worship especially for the Muslims.
Day 06: Ahmedabad - Modhera - Udaipur
Visit the Sun temple premises in Modhera'located a few km from Ahmedabad on the 6th day of the tour. Built in the 10th century AD'it is one of the most sacred places of worship for the Hindus and a place offering serenity for the others. Later in the day you will arrive in Udaipur'known as the city of Lakes and the first destination you will touch base with'in Rajasthan. Overnight stay in the hotel in Udaipur.
Day 07: Udaipur
Visit the local attractions of Udaipur like the Jagdish temple'the Saheliyon ki baari'and the City Palace complex'on the 7th day of the tour. You may even visit the Eklingji temple and the Nathdwara temple located a few km from the city'while continuing your visit of the attractions of Udaipur.
Day 08: Udaipur - Chittorgarh
Leave Udaipur for Chittorgarh located about 115 km away and mostly visited for the impressive fortress - the Chittorgarh Fort. Do not miss to listen to the tales of Rani Padmini'while here.
Day 09: Chittorgarh - Pushkar
Post-breakfast leave for Pushkar a very holy site especially for the Hindus. Visit the Brahma temple'the only temple in the world dedicated to Lord Brahma and take a holy dip in the cool waters of the tank surrounding the temple. A dip here is believed to wash away all sins!
Overnight stay in the hotel in Pushkar.
Day 10: Pushkar - Jaipur
On the tenth day of the tour'travel to Jaipur'the capital city of the state of Rajasthan. Known for its exclusively designed palaces'grand forts and a number of colorful markets'Jaipur is a must visit destination for all guests on forts and palaces tours across India. Explore the heritage sites of the city including the Hawa Mahal'the City Palace complex'and the Jantar Mantar.
Day 11: Jaipur
Reserve this day to embark on excursions to the places located in the vicinity of Jaipur. Begin your trip for the day with a trail across the Amer Fort that is situated at a distance of not more than 15 km from the Jaipur city. In the evening you can visit the local markets of Jaipur and pick up really interesting stuff including handicraft items among other things. Do not also miss to feast on the spicy local delicacies that are served in the restaurants located in the markets.
Day 12: Jaipur - Agra
After you have explored Jaipur in its entirety'you may now move on to the next destination. Mostly visited for housing one of the seven wonders of the world- the Taj Mahal; Agra is also visited for its other stately Mughal monuments and also for its 'Pethas'. However'before you will arrive in the city of Agra'you will also stop over at Fatehpur Sikri to view the heritage sites housed there. The topmost names in this variety comprise of the Buland Darwaza'the tomb of Salim Chisti'and the Panch Mahal.
After arriving in Agra'you can explore the local markets in the evening.
Day 13: Agra - Gwalior
Begin your sojourn of Agra by visiting the Taj Mahal'one of the most significant monuments belonging to the Mughal era. Later on proceed towards the Agra fort'a grand fortress made of red sandstone.
Post-lunch move on to Gwalior to visit some of the most exquisitely designed temples in India. On arrival in the city'check into the hotel. Spend the evening in leisure or exploring the amenities of the hotel.
Day 14: Gwalior - Orchha
Early morning'visit the Gwalior fort'a 15th century monumental wonder. Housing a number of attractions in its midst'the fort is best visited for the fine carvings on the Gujari Mahal'the Man Mandir palace'the Teli-ka-Mandir'and the Saas-Bahu Mandir. Also worthy of being mentioned here are the Chattris of Gwalior that give one an insight into the artistic talents of the people of the era when they were built.
Late in the afternoon leave for Orchha to relive the mysteries of the medieval romance that fills up the ambience in this place. Overnight stay in Orchha.
Day 15: Orchha - Delhi
Embark on tours across Orchha and visit the ancient temples housed here. The topmost to name in the order are the Chaturbhuj temple and the Lakshmi Narayan temple. While here'do not miss to visit the Chattris and the palaces of the Bundela kings - the Jahangir Mahal and the Raj Mahal. Post-lunch leave for Jhansi to embark on the overnight train to Delhi.
Day 16: Departure
Arrive in Delhi and leave for the International airport for your journey back home. If time permits'you can also enjoy visiting the markets in Delhi and picking up stuff to carry back home!
